St. Mark's Basilica

Also called The Patriarchal Cathedral Basilica of San Marco

It is the cathedral church and seat of the patriarchate of Venice. Together with the bell tower and the square of San Marco, it forms the main architectural site of Venice, and, together with them, it constitutes the best known symbol of the city and of the Veneto in the world. It is also one of the symbols of Venetian art and Christianity.
